Students who complete an A.A. or A.S. degree from KCTCS, and who meet UPIKE's admission requirements and academic policies, may transfer to UPIKE to complete a bachelor's degree. General transfer information can be found within the individual pathways.
When transferring, those KCTCS graduates who have completed an A.A. or A.S. degree will have met the General Education requirements at UPIKE, with the following exceptions:
- Systematic Study of the Bible (3 semester hours) - if an equivalent course has not been taken at KCTCS, one will be required at UPIKE to fulfill General Education Curriculum.
- An Oral Communication course (3 semester hours) - if an equivalent course has not been taken at KCTCS, one will be required at UPIKE to fulfill General Education Curriculum.
- An Engaging Our World course (3 semester hours) - if an equivalent course has not been taken at KCTCS, one will be required at UPIKE to fulfill General Education Curriculum
Pathways will offer further guidance on meeting these requirements.
Transfer credit will only be granted for those courses with a grade of "C" or above according to UPIKE's transfer policies. A notation of "P" and the credit hours transferring are recorded on the UPIKE transcript; grade point averages and quality points are not recorded for transfer courses.
At least 120 credit hours are required for graduation with a bachelor's degree, 30 of the last 36 which must be from UPIKE, and 39 that must be upper level.
At least 50% of the semester hours required in the major, minor, or area of concentration with a grade of "C" or better must be earned at UPIKE. A total of 25% of the hours for the degree must be earned at UPIKE.
