Retiree Billing and Employer Credit:

Please be advised that retiree benefit premium billing is administered through a third-party vendor. Chard-Snyder/UnifyHR is responsible for processing premium payments and managing billing-related inquiries on behalf of the benefits program. For specific questions about your billing statements or payment options, we encourage you to contact the vendor directly using the information provided in your billing materials.

KCTCS Employer Premium Credit and Billing –

  • KCTCS provides an employer contribution (credit) toward retiree premiums for health, dental, and vision coverage. This credit applies only to the retiree's own coverage, not to dependent premiums.
  • Retirees are billed monthly for any remaining premiums not covered by the employer credit, including costs for dependent coverage.
  • Timely payment is required to maintain coverage. Failure to pay on time will result in permanent cancellation of coverage.
  • Premiums, credit amounts, and plan benefits are reviewed annually and may change following Open Enrollment.

UK Employer Premium Credit and Billing –

  • Retirees under age 65 are responsible for monthly health insurance premiums set by the University of Kentucky (UK), based on their age and years of service at retirement. KCTCS applies the employer contribution (credit) provided by UK to help offset these costs.
  • Retirees eligible for the UK Medicare Advantage plan also receive an employer contribution (credit) from UK, which KCTCS applies accordingly.
