Fire Science
College Credit Requirements
To earn KCTCS credit for Fire Science, a student must have accomplished the following:
- Completed the high school Fire Science Technology course with a grade of B or higher.
- If applying for Internship/Co-Op credit toward FIR 198 Practicum, it must be at least 180 contact hours long.
- Submitted the necessary documentation, signed by a school personnel, indicating all requirements have been met (see next page of this document for signature page).
- Applied to a KCTCS college and enrolled within three years of graduating high school.
Note: All three steps should be completed prior to the start of the student?s first semester of classes at a KCTCS college.
