December Shortridge
“I chose to go back to school in hopes to pick up where I left off. I graduated from BCTC in 2002 with an associate in health science and certification in medical assistance. But as life goes after marriage and 3 kids under 3, I decided that being at home with my children was best. Now with my youngest about to graduate high school, I’ve decided to pick up where I left off!
Patient care is a natural calling for me. I enjoy helping and caring for those who need that encouraging word or a little empathy. I hope to bring joy each day to someone who needs it. That is why I am continuing my education at BCTC in hopes to pursue my RN.
I started BCTC last fall working on my prerequisites for the program, and I have already achieved so much. I have obtained my CNA which helped me get back to work in the healthcare system.
I love the ease of communicating with the instructors and advisors. The convenience of having a campus right here in Winchester is a win-win for me! And the monthly payment tuition plan is another nice incentive for choosing BCTC. There are so many other great things about this college, and I encourage anyone to look to BCTC as their first choice, whether starting college for the first time or going back!”
