Search firm for new KCTCS president announced
Versailles, Ky. – Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Board of Regents Chair Gail Henson, Ph.D, today announced the selection of Gold Hill Associates to lead the search for a new KCTCS president. Current KCTCS President Jay K. Box will retire June 30.
Gold Hill Associates is dedicated solely to community college executive searches. The company has assisted more than 100 community colleges in searches for new presidents and executives since it began in 1990.
Leading the search will be Preston Pulliams, Ed.D., president and CEO. Pulliams has served as a community college president at Portland Community College and was vice chancellor at the Community Colleges for the State University of New York.
The firm was selected by a Request for Proposals Committee made up of KCTCS Regents appointed by Chair Henson. The committee reviewed proposals and heard presentations from several national search firms before choosing Gold Hill Associates.
“Gold Hill’s focus on community colleges was important to the committee because our needs are different from universities in terms of our priorities and the students we serve,” Henson said. “Some of our college boards have successfully worked with this firm as well, so we took that into consideration.”
The process to fill the position will take several months, and Box’s successor is likely to be named in fall of 2020.
