Presidential Search

About the Search

The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is conducting a search for its fourth President. Its third president, Dr. Paul Czarapata, departed in February; currently, Dr. Larry Ferguson is serving as KCTCS Acting President. Dr. Ferguson is the Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC) President and has a long history with KCTCS and served in several leadership positions at the System Office as well as ACTC. He also was president of a community college in Alabama and has worked in the private sector.

The KCTCS Board Chair, Mr. James Lee Stevens, thought it prudent and necessary to appoint an Acting Chair in the wake of Dr. Czarapata’ s departure so that daily operations could continue without interruption.

The Association of Governing Boards has been selected by the KCTCS Board of Regents to assist with the national search for the fourth KCTCS President. A timeline and details about the search are forthcoming.
