KCTCS Foundation announces new board members, officers

The Kentucky Community and Technical College System Foundation is pleased to announce the appointments of three members to its board of trustees and the election of two officers.

New members include:

  • Nick Phelps, managing director, Fifth Third Private Bank.
  • Adam Marley, vice president of employee benefits, Houchens Insurance Group.
  • Chad Harpole, director of government and community affairs, Century Aluminum.

Linda Rumpke, director of government and public affairs for Columbia Gas, was elected treasurer, and Phelps was elected secretary. Megan Stith, KCTCS executive director, leads the foundation.

Foundation Chair Stephanie Bell said fundraising efforts are focused on building a stronger future for students.

“At KCTCS, we are committed to expanding opportunities for our more than 107,000 students,” she said. “By cultivating strong relationships with corporations, community and business leaders, the foundation will secure vital resources to enhance student success through scholarships and helping to meet basic needs.

“Together, we are building a stronger future for our students, our colleges and our communities," added Bell.

Other board members include:

  • Lourdes Baez, associate vice president of government relations and advocacy, Baptist Health.
  • Marty Keith, market vice president for human resources, CHI Saint Joseph Health.
  • Christopher “Chris” Perry, president/CEO, Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives & United Utility Supply Cooperative.
  • Brandon Fogle, northern region president, South Central Bank.
  • John L. Gohmann, managing director C&I Lending Kentucky, Peoples Bank.
  • David Kloiber, president, The Kloiber Foundation.
  • Laura McCullough, president, Maysville Community and Technical College.
  • Ryan Quarles, president, KCTCS.
  • Barry Martin, chair, KCTCS Board of Regents.
  • Anne-Tyler Morgan, attorney, McBrayer PLLC.

Later this spring, the trustees will sponsor the second annual KCTCS Giving Day on April 16. The 24-hour event will raise funds for scholarships, food pantries, emergency aid, and student enrichment programs for students at all 16 colleges.

"On behalf of our entire system, I am deeply grateful to our foundation members for their unwavering commitment and enthusiasm to raise funds that will directly support our students,” said President Quarles. “Their generosity and dedication will help our students achieve their career goals so they can make meaningful contributions to our workforce and economy,” he added.

The foundation is the independent not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) fundraising arm of KCTCS. Established in 1999, the foundation advances the vision, mission, goals and objectives of KCTCS and serves as a cooperative and supportive resource for foundations and funding for the system.
