Shana-Savard-HoggeThe Kentucky Community and Technical College has a new staff regent. KCTCS President Ryan Quarles announced that Shana Savard-Hogge of Maysville Community and Technical College was elected to the position.

Savard-Hogge serves as associate director of grants for the college. She replaces former staff regent Joe Heerdink following a systemwide special election and will serve until a new regent is elected.

“I look forward to working with Regent Savard-Hogge in this new role,” Quarles said. “This is a historic time for KCTCS, and I am thankful to have her expertise and experience at the table to help us make the best decisions for our system and for the commonwealth.”

With a 20-year career spanning community colleges, four-year universities and government sectors, Savard-Hogge brings a strong background in financial expertise and strategic visioning. She aims to use those skills to help KCTCS maintain financial sustainability while delivering quality instruction and staying ahead of the changing educational landscape.

“I believe in making high-quality education accessible and transformative,” she said. “My commitment to student success and community impact drives everything I do.”

Savard-Hogge earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and holds two graduate degrees: an MBA and a master’s in higher education, all from Morehead State University. She is pursuing a doctorate in education at MSU.

The KCTCS Board of Regents acts as the governing body of KCTCS and is made up of 14 members. Eight members are appointed by the governor while six are elected members from within KCTCS: two members of the teaching faculty elected by faculty; two staff members by non-teaching personnel; and two members of the student body elected by students.
