Mandatory FAFSA filing helps students and the Commonwealth

Why are so many high school students choosing to limit their opportunities to receive grants and scholarships for college? A mere 55% of Kentucky high school students completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in 2021 leaving more than $54 million in Pell grant aid on the table.

KCTCS heading in the right direction

Like me, you’ve probably seen polls asking if the country’s heading in the right direction. It’s a good question and one I ask myself about KCTCS on a regular basis. I believe it’s important to take stock of where we are and where we’re going. For me, the answer is YES, the system is heading in the right direction. That doesn’t mean we’ve completed the journey, but I believe we achieved a great deal in 2022 and that next year will be even better.

A banner year for training the workforce
