A small investment can help our students go miles ahead.

KCTCS students are tomorrow’s nurses, welders, IT professionals, technicians, and educators - the people who will power Kentucky’s workforce and strengthen communities across the state.
Now, you can support them every time you hit the road.
The Kentucky Community and Technical College System now offers an official KCTCS specialty license plate through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. When you purchase the plate, $10 goes directly to student emergency funds, helping students stay enrolled and continue working toward their careers.
It’s a simple way to drive Kentucky forward while showing your KCTCS pride everywhere you go.
How to Get Your KCTCS License Plate
Getting your KCTCS specialty plate is easy.
You can:
- Visit your local county clerk’s office to request the KCTCS specialty plate, or
- Order your specialty plate online through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to personalize your plate with up to six characters, making it uniquely yours.
Why Student Emergency Funds Matter
Many KCTCS students are balancing school with jobs, families, and other responsibilities. When unexpected expenses arise—like a car repair, medical bill, childcare cost, or utility payment—it can quickly become a barrier to staying in school.
Student emergency funds provide short-term financial assistance that helps students overcome these challenges and remain focused on their education.
Your support helps students:
- Stay enrolled during unexpected financial hardships
- Cover urgent expenses that could otherwise derail their education
- Continue pursuing careers that strengthen Kentucky’s workforce
Sometimes, just a small amount of support at the right time can make the difference between a student dropping out and finishing their program.
Support Kentucky’s Future Workforce
When you purchase a KCTCS specialty license plate, you are investing in students who are working hard to build better futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Your support helps ensure that Kentucky continues to have the skilled workforce our communities and industries depend on.
A small plate can make a big impact.
