KCTCS HRPP Research Modification Form

Note:  KCTCS will be closed from December 22nd, 2025 through January 5th, 2026 for Institutional Close, and will have limited staff availability the week of December 15th. The KCTCS HRPP will resume conducting research reviews when KCTCS reopens on January 5th.

If you wish to modify a research protocol that has already been approved or exempted by the KCTCS HRPP, those modifications must be approved by the HRPP prior to implementation. These modifications can include changes to research site(s), population(s) involved, changes to research design or instrumentation, and so on.

If you wish to modify a research protocol that was previously approved or exempted by an IRB external to KCTCS, and that has been accepted by the KCTCS HRPP, please seek initial modification approval from the external IRB. You may then submit their modification review determination here with details on proposed modifications. HRPP staff will then review the external IRB’s decision.
