WHAT IS ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE?
This program includes specialized science courses in addition to general education coursework to prepare graduates for a variety of career paths in an in-demand field.
Graduates of this program will be prepared to sample and analyze air, water and soil in accordance with state and federal regulations. Practical lab and field experience in sampling and analysis is stressed. Coursework also emphasizes the application of scientific principles to pollution control problems in accordance with state and federal regulations. Emphasis is placed on developing the student's ability to function effectively in a variety of job situations. Graduates in this field may be employed by environmental and engineering consulting firms, utilities, private industry, and government.
In addition, the combination of specialized and general education courses facilities students' ability to continue their education for a bachelor's degree.
