Family Scholar House is an educational non-profit that serves single parents and college students across the state of Kentucky. Family Scholar House has had an ongoing partnership with KCTCS for several years and partners with schools to provide outreach, resource referrals, wrap-around support services, emergency funding, and other vital services to college students in need. As part of this partnership, Family Scholar House has joined KCTCS and Goodwill to support Education First Employers initiatives state-wide by acting as a liaison between the schools and employers to ensure all students are connected with the best information and opportunities possible. Family Scholar House helps connect students with all EFE employer partners, including sharing insight about tuition assistance programs, available job opportunities, application requirements, contact information, and more. Staff are available Monday-Saturday between 8am and 8pm to assist college students in discussing goals, learning about the EFE program, connecting with academic and employment opportunities, obtaining resource referrals, and any other support they may need to succeed.
For more than 100 years, Goodwill Kentucky has helped Kentuckians find pathways out of poverty through the transformative power of work. Operating in 103 of Kentucky’s 120 counties, we place over 3,000 Kentuckians into jobs each year through our 1,400-plus employer partners and our retail stores. These life-changing opportunities are made possible through donations to our stores and community support. The organization reinvests approximately 90 cents of every dollar earned in its retail stores into job training and workforce programs. When you give to Goodwill, you do a lot of good.
