3.37.2 College Guidelines
- 3.37.2.1 Jefferson Community and Technical College
- Preference may be given to:
- Applicants who demonstrate a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher in high school or equivalent on the General Education Development Examination (GED);
- applicants who have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher in 12 or more college hours from any accredited college or university;
- applicants with an ACT composite score of 19 or higher or its equivalent. Applicants with scores higher than 19 may be ranked based upon those results;
- applicants who have completed General Education courses necessary for the issuance of the Associates Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology;
- applicants who have earned previous degrees including Bachelor’s Degree or higher;
- applicants who are Kentucky residents and/or reside within the KCTCS service area;
- applicants with technical training through coursework that supports technical areas of the Aviation Maintenance Technology Program’s General, Airframe, or Powerplant Curriculums. Technical courses that provide preference shall be identified and maintained by the Aviation Maintenance Technology Selective Admissions Committee and posted in selective Admission control documents and manuals available for Applicant review;
- applicants who have served or are serving in the United States Armed Forces. Applicants who have served in the United States Armed Forces with a focus on maintaining aircraft, aircraft components, aircraft powerplants, or associated aircraft systems. Applicants may be further evaluated based on discharge status. For applicants who are serving during the time of the enrollment process, the maximum points in this section will be awarded.
- applicants with previous enrollment in dual credit aviation maintenance technology courses while enrolled in high school. Additional aviation dual credit courses, such as flight training, or other technical courses may be considered;
- applicants who are employed by a company that provides a pathway for the applicant to change their employment status, within the same company, to Aircraft Maintenance;
- applicants who have, or are currently, employed by a company in which the applicants daily work focus is aircraft maintenance related. This work pertains to maintenance of aircraft, aircraft components, aircraft systems, and/or direct support of aviation maintenance activities.

Preference may be given to:
- applicants who demonstrate a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) in high school or equivalent on the General Education Development (GED) Examination;
- applicants who have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher in 12 or more college-level credit hours from any accredited college or university;
- applicants with an ACT composite score of 19 or higher or its equivalent. Applicants with scores higher than 19 may be ranked based on those results;
- applicants who have completed General Education courses necessary for the issuance of the Aviation Maintenance Technology associate degree;
- applicants who have earned previous degrees including a bachelor's degree or higher;
