Academic readiness courses help students build reading, writing, and math skills for success in college level classes. Enrollment in these courses is based on a student’s placement test results so students will only be enrolled in coursed that they need.
Based on a student’s placement test results, they may take a readiness course in English, reading and/or math, or they may take a “corequisite” course that includes additional academic support along with the entry level college course. For additional information see the KCTCS Assessment and Placement Policy.
Students who need academic readiness courses are highly encouraged to talk to a Virtual Student Success Coach prior to enrolling in courses as this can affect financial aid and your progress in other courses.
