Mr. Josh Givens Student Regent

Mr. C. Josh Givens is an Integrated Nursing major at Madisonville Community College and residesin Central City, Ky. Prior to resuming his education, Josh built a career as a print journalist, serving in communities such as Russellville, Bardstown, Madisonville, London, Bowling Green, and Central City, additionally serving as a Director with the Kentucky Press Association Board. 

Since joining the student body at MCC, Josh has served as Student Government Association Vice President for North Campus and is the current SGA President. Associated honors and awards include MCC President’s List, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, PTK Coca-Cola Scholars Military Leaders of Promise, Community Improvement Foundation MLK/Tim Thomas Award, Kentucky VFW Auxiliary Marion Watson Nursing Scholarship, and MCC 2025 Student Leadership Honors Award. 

In addition to his educational and professional pursuits, Josh is founding secretary of Friends of John Prine Memorial Park at Rochester Dam, a member of the Board of Directors of Muhlenberg Music Mission, was a founding member of the Butler County Drug-Free Coalition, is a graduate of Leadership Hopkins and Leadership Muhlenberg, and is an alumnus of the Kentucky Rural Urban Exchange. 

Josh is a U.S. Army and Kentucky National Guard veteran, serving as an armor crewman and military photojournalist. His personal interests and pursuits include music collecting, acting, and the collection and preservation of U.S. military artifacts from the World War II and Viet Nam eras.
