The very generous financial support of the Blakley family and the enthusiastic leadership of Alton Blakley, Jr. as General Campaign Co-Chair were instrumental in the success of the Partners in Progress Campaign for Somerset Community College.  The Blakley family has deep roots in Somerset and is committed to the community in which they live.  The faculty, staff, and students at SCC are proud to count the Blakley's as friends of the College and pleased they are receiving this most deserved award.

Accepting the award on behalf of the bank is President & CEO, Mr. Ray Luttrull

Union Planters Bank of Somerset was the lead business contributor in the Partners In Progress Campaign for Somerset Community College.  The Bank's substantial support helped to make the dream of a new building a reality.  Ray Luttrull, CEO of the bank said, "This gift is a reflection of Union Planters Bank's commitment to the improvement of the community through education.  It is the bank's way of giving something that will benefit countless individuals for years to come."  The faculty, staff, and students at SCC are very grateful to Mr. Luttrull and the board of directors at Union Planters Bank for their support and applaud the bank's commitment to helping the citizens in our region.

Mr. Parrett made a generous donation of aircraft parts to Somerset Technical College's Aircraft and Power Plant Program.  These parts, with an appraised value of $43,325, will greatly enhance the Aircraft and Power Plant Program.

Being Honored by Somerset Technical College

Tincher-Williams, a dealership for General Motors, donated a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck for use in Somerset Technical College's Auto Technology Program.  This truck will enable students to have hands-on access to today's automotive technology.
