What does a year at a KCTCS college cost?
Our Net Price Calculator can act as your guide and give you an idea of what similar students paid for KCTCS in a previous year. This is only an estimate meant to help you in planning for college.
So, how does this work? Well, the amounts are based on information you provide, then the calculator compares your information to the actual awards received by in-state, full-time, first-time students during the 2014-2015 academic year. Remember, this estimate does not mean you will receive the same financial aid awards. Those are subject to change based on a number of factors. You should use this tool to get a general idea of what your college cost could be. If you have questions, just ask. We're happy to help.
Afraid you can’t afford college? Well, you can. With the lowest tuition in Kentucky, financial aid options, and a helping hand to guide you through the application process, KCTCS has you covered.
To help you get started, we’ve broken the process into three easy steps:
Step 1: Fill out a FAFSA
The first step in applying for financial aid is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, you’ll hear it called FAFSA. The FAFSA must be completed each year, and since most financial aid is awarded on a first come, first serve basis, we recommend filling out your paperwork as close to January 1 as possible.
Gather these documents, and use them to fill out the free application here.
Step 2: Apply for aid
Now you need to apply for your financial aid package. You’ll need to monitor your Student Aid Report (SAR) in your student self-service account online. This shows your eligibility to receive financial aid.
What kind of aid is available?
Step 3: Verify and accept your aid
You’ve been approved for financial aid, but you’re not done yet! The verification part of the process takes some time, so don’t delay, and submit your information quickly. If verification is not done, you could have to pay for tuition, fees, books and supplies from your own money until the verification process is complete. Go to your student self-service To Do List, to check your progress.
