Versailles, Ky. (March 26, 2012) – The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) took center stage at the National Conference for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) after receiving awards for outstanding achievement in marketing communications for a successful recruitment marketing program and marketing materials designed for a tuition program. The Paragon Awards is an annual award celebration honoring the marketing and communication efforts of community college marketing and public relations professionals. A total of 1,860 entries from 276 colleges were received for this year’s competition.
The Paragon Awards ceremony was part of the NCMPR conference held March 11-14 at the Fairmont in San Francisco, California.
KCTCS received a gold Paragon Award for its Super Sunday Initiative, intended to increase the college-going rate of students of color, and a bronze Paragon Award for its Guaranteed Tuition Program (featuring creative images of piggy banks), which allowed students to lock in tuition at the then current rate.
Additionally, KCTCS’ Bluegrass Community and Technical College was presented a gold Paragon Award in the electronic newsletter category.
NCMPR is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges. NCMPR has more than 1,550 members from more than 650 colleges across the United States, Canada and other countries.
