Versailles, KY (April 23, 2012) – The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) will host more than 80 education leaders from 25 institutions in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio, at the Kentucky Ad Astra Summit on April 24-25 at the KCTCS Office in Versailles, KY. Participants at the summit will network and learn best practices from one another about implementation and utilization of the Ad Astra high-tech scheduling software. The software helps coordinate academic, event and resource scheduling functions in one enterprise-wide system.
“The new software has allowed KCTCS colleges to streamline space planning, as well as gather and verify data much more quickly,” said Doug Roberts, System Director of Budget and Financial Planning. “Daily data-driven reports indicate how space is utilized and where improvements need to be made, reducing costs associated with facilities and academic scheduling.”
Ad Astra software has also helped KCTCS improve its energy consumption and reduce utility costs. Some KCTCS campuses have been able to rearrange schedules in order to close facilities during summer months that offer little to no classes, not only increasing energy conservation, but saving money.
